Here’s a fabulous new item, an exceptional piece of Vivianite. It has spectacular green and indigo blue colored crystals protruding from the earth colored matrix. At first glance the crystals seem almost black but hold up to bright light and prepare to be amazed. It’s quite difficult to capture it’s brilliance in a photo and the picture don’t do this piece justice. The excellent piece measures 6 5/8″ x 4 3/4″ x 3 7/8″. A very nice specimen that makes a unique display item.

Vivianite is a hydrated iron phosphate mineral found in a number of geological environments. Small amounts of manganese, magnesium and calcium may substitute for iron in the structure. Colorless, very pale green, becoming dark blue, dark greenish blue, indigo-blue, then black with oxidation.
