Here is something different from the Rock Shed’s fossil department.  This is a very well preserved,  and very rare above average quality Desmostylus hesperus Hippopotamus like animal Fossil Tooth specimen from Shark Tooth Hill, California. It’s from the Miocene period-10 million year old. The largest tooth measures   3/4″ x 5/8″ x 7/8″in a matrix measuring 4 7/8″ x 3 1/4″ x  3 1/8″ and has not been polished. This is a very impressive collector quality specimen from an old collection and no longer available. Very nice!
