FO310: Fossil Lobster. – Locality: Gunn Point, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia   Selection: Rough specimen.

Appearance: It was formed after the area was catastrophically buried by an intense cyclone, with Mangrove trees in Calcium rich mud. This particular specimen, although not complete, is well preserved.

Approximate measurements: LxWxH – 4 3/8″ x 1 7/8″ x 1 1/8″.

Availability: single specimen, exclusive. 

Here’s something we haven’t seen in a while, an amazing, fossilized Lobster from Gunn Point, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. It was formed after the area was catastrophically buried by an intense cyclone, with Mangrove trees in Calcium rich mud. This particular specimen, although not complete, is well preserved and measures 2 3/4″ x 1 5/8″ x 7/8″.  It would make a great addition to any fossil collection.
