This is crushed larger sized Green Moss Agate from India in sizes ranging from approximately 1 3/4″ to 3 1/2″ as it comes from the barrel. This is a great quality tumbling rock and has interesting designs. Please note some bags may also include pieces of Green Tree Agate. These also can be cut and cabbed into a beautiful stone for pendants, earrings etc.
Agates mostly occur as nodules in volcanic rocks or waters containing silica in solution possibly derived from the decomposition of silicates in the lava. The siliceous matter is deposited in regular layers resulting in the banded or striped formation.
