Description

Moqui Marbles are found at the base of Navajo Sandstone and are thought to be about 130 to 135 million years old. They were once mollusks which  were trapped in a hug flood of sand, their bodies were pulled from the inside of their shell to the outside leaving their centers hollow. Through the years, water and sand filtered through their centers, filling them with fine sand while the water would deposit its iron around the outer shell.
