Description

Brucite is an oxide mineral with the formula Mg(OH)2. It forms in low-temperature environments, filling veins in rocks or occurring as an alteration product of minerals in rocks such as marble or dunite. It has a variety of uses, as a source of magnesium and as an insulator for industrial purposes.
