Here is a gorgeous Fluorite specimen. It measures 12″ x 8 7/8″ x 2 1/4″, weighs over 7 1/2 pounds and has not been polished. It has fabulous pastel emerald green colored crystals and displays nicely. The all-natural specimen has a nice arrangement in an unusual design with lots of character. It also will fluoresce a bluish purple under a LW/UV light. Fluorite, also known as fluor-spar, is a mineral composed of Calcium Fluoride. It is a widely occurring mineral and is often found with metallic minerals such as Galena and Sphalerite, but also with Barite, Quartz and Calcite. It may fluoresce strongly in ultraviolet light. Although green is the most common color, it can also be red, purple, blue, yellow and white.
